²³ For they, too, built for themselves ^(A)high places, ^(B)memorial stones, and ^[a](C)Asherim on every high hill and ^(D)under every luxuriant tree. ²⁴ There were also ^(E)male cult prostitutes in the land. They committed ^[b]all the same abominations of the nations which the Lord dispossessed before the sons of Israel.
