⁴⁵ But the people said to Saul, ‘Must Jonathan die? He accomplished such a great deliverance for Israel! No, as the Lord lives, not a hair of his head will fall to the ground,^(A) for he worked with God’s help today.’^(B) So the people redeemed Jonathan, and he did not die.

²⁷ When the satraps, prefects, governors, and the king’s advisers gathered around, they saw that the fire had no effect^(A) on^[a] the bodies of these men: not a hair of their heads was singed, their robes were unaffected, and there was no smell of fire on them.^(B)

¹⁸ but not a hair of your head will be lost.^(A)

³⁴ So I urge you to take some food. For this is for your survival, since none of you will lose a hair from your head.’^(A)
