²⁸ Samuel said to him, ‘The Lord has torn the kingship of Israel away from you today^(A) and has given it to your neighbour who is better than you.^(B)

²⁰ ‘Now I know for certain you will be king, and the kingdom of Israel will be established^[a] in your hand.^(A)
