²⁷ David and his men went out and killed two hundred^[a] Philistines. He brought their foreskins and presented them as full payment to the king to become his son-in-law. Then Saul gave his daughter Michal to David as his wife.^(A)

¹⁴ Then David sent messengers to say to Ish-bosheth son of Saul, ‘Give me back my wife Michal. I was engaged to her for the price of a hundred Philistine foreskins.’^(A)

¹⁵ So Ish-bosheth sent someone to take her away from her husband, Paltiel son of Laish.^(B)
