¹² Then Samuel ^(A)took a stone and placed it between Mizpah and Shen, and named it ^[a]Ebenezer, saying, “^[b]So far the Lord has helped us.”

¹⁷ Then he would make his return to ^(A)Ramah, because his house was there, and there he also judged Israel; and there he ^(B)built an altar to the Lord.

²⁵ Then David built there an altar to the Lord, and he offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. And ^(A)the Lord responded to prayer for the land, and the plague was ^[a]withdrawn from Israel.

^8 (A)Come close to God and He will come close to you. ^(B)Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and ^(C)purify your hearts, you ^[a](D)double-minded.
