Foreign Refugees in Israel

²⁴ Then the king of Assyria brought people from Babylon, Cuthah, Avva, Hamath, and Sepharvaim and settled them in place of the Israelites in the cities of Samaria. The settlers took possession of Samaria and lived in its cities.^(A)

⁵² He sent messengers ahead of himself,^(A) and on the way they entered a village of the Samaritans^(B) to make preparations for him.

¹⁶ He fell face down^(A) at his feet, thanking him. And he was a Samaritan.^(B)

⁹ ‘How is it that you, a Jew,^(A) ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan^(B) woman? ’ she asked him. For Jews do not associate with^[a] Samaritans.^[b]

²⁵ So, after they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, they travelled back to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
