¹² King Jehoiachin of Judah, along with his mother, his servants, his commanders, and his officials,^[a] surrendered to the king of Babylon.^(A)

So the king of Babylon took him captive in the eighth year of his reign.

⁹ Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guards,^(A) deported the rest of the people to Babylon – those who had remained in the city and those deserters who had defected to him along with the rest of the people who remained.

¹² On the tenth day of the fifth month – which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon – Nebuzaradan, the captain of the guards, entered Jerusalem as the representative of^[a] the king of Babylon.
