⁷ For God has not given us a spirit of fear,^(A) but one of power,^[a](B) love,^(C) and sound judgment.

Not Ashamed of the Gospel

⁸ So don’t be ashamed^(D) of the testimony about our Lord,^(E) or of me his prisoner.^(F) Instead, share in suffering for the gospel, relying on the power^(G) of God. ⁹ He has saved us and called us with a holy calling,^(H) not according to our works,^(I) but according to his own purpose^(J) and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.
