8 Nel frattempo Abner, figlio di Ner capo dell'esercito di Saul, prese Ish-Bosceth, figlio di Saul e lo condusse a Mahanaim;
9 e lo costituí re su Galaad, sugli Ashuriti, su Jezreel, su Efraim, su Beniamino e su tutto Israele.
10 Ish-Bosceth, figlio di Saul, aveva quarant'anni quando cominciò a regnare su Israele e regnò due anni. Ma la casa di Giuda seguiva Davide.

War Between the Houses of David and Saul(A)
8 Meanwhile, Abner(B) son of Ner, the commander of Saul’s army, had taken Ish-Bosheth(C) son of Saul and brought him over to Mahanaim.(D) 9 He made him king over Gilead,(E) Ashuri(F) and Jezreel, and also over Ephraim, Benjamin and all Israel.(G)
10 Ish-Bosheth son of Saul was forty years old when he became king over Israel, and he reigned two years. The tribe of Judah, however, remained loyal to David.
