8 They brought the head(A) of Ish-Bosheth to David at Hebron and said to the king, “Here is the head of Ish-Bosheth son of Saul,(B) your enemy, who tried to kill you. This day the Lord has avenged(C) my lord the king against Saul and his offspring.”

8 Ze brachten het hoofd van Isboset naar koning David in Hebron. Ze zeiden tegen hem: "Kijk, hier is het hoofd van Isboset, de zoon van uw vijand Saul. Saul heeft u altijd willen doden. Vandaag heeft de Heer daarvoor wraak genomen op Saul en zijn kinderen."
