⁴ Then they were all filled^(A) with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues,^[a] as the Spirit enabled them.^(B)

³⁶ As they were travelling down the road, they came to some water. The eunuch said, ‘Look, there’s water. What would keep me from being baptised? ’^[a]

¹⁷ If, then, God gave them the same gift that he also gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, how could I possibly hinder God? ’^(A)

⁸ And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he also did to us.^(A)
