⁸ If the Lord your God enlarges your territory as he swore to your ancestors, and gives you all the land he promised to give them – 

Moses’s Death

34 Then Moses went up from the plains of Moab to Mount Nebo, to the top of Pisgah,^(A) which faces Jericho, and the Lord showed him all the land: Gilead as far as Dan,

²⁴ They told Joshua, ‘The Lord has handed over the entire land to us. Everyone who lives in the land is also panicking because of us.’^[a]

²⁴ The Gibeonites answered him, ‘It was clearly communicated to your servants that the Lord your God had commanded his servant Moses to give you all the land and to destroy all the inhabitants of the land before you. We greatly feared for our lives because of you, and that is why we did this.^(A)

Summary of Conquests

¹⁶ So Joshua took all this land – the hill country, all the Negev, all the land of Goshen,^(A) the foothills, the Arabah, and the hill country of Israel with its foothills – 

²³ So Joshua took the entire land, in keeping with all that the Lord had told Moses. Joshua then gave it as an inheritance to Israel according to the land allotted to each tribe. After this, the land had rest from war.^(A)

The Lord’s Promises Fulfilled

⁴³ So the Lord gave Israel all the land he had sworn to give their ancestors, and they took possession of it and settled there.
