¹⁰ The day you stood before the Lord your God^(A) at Horeb, the Lord said to me, “Assemble the people before me, and I will let them hear my words, so that they may learn to fear me^(B) all the days they live on the earth and may instruct their children.”

¹² Gather the people – men, women, dependents, and the resident foreigners within your city gates – so that they may listen and learn to fear^(A) the Lord your God and be careful to follow all the words of this law. ¹³ Then their children^(B) who do not know the law will listen and learn to fear the Lord your God as long as you live in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.’
