Israel to Destroy Idolatrous Nations

7 ‘When the Lord your God brings you into the land^(A) you are entering to possess,^(B) and he drives out many nations before you – the Hethites, Girgashites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites, seven nations^(C) more numerous and powerful than you^(D) – 

⁵ But they settled among the Canaanites, Hethites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites.

²⁰ As for all the peoples who remained of the Amorites, Hethites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, who were not Israelites –  ²¹ their descendants who remained in the land after them, those whom the Israelites were unable to destroy completely^(A) – Solomon imposed forced labour on them; it is still this way today.^(B)

⁴⁵ You are the daughter of your mother, who despised her husband and children. You are the sister of your sisters,^(A) who despised their husbands and children. Your mother was a Hethite and your father an Amorite.^(B)
