¹⁶ He fed you in the wilderness with manna,^(A) which your ancestors had not known, in order to humble and test you, so that in the end he might cause you to prosper.

⁴⁰ ‘I will make a permanent covenant with them:^(A) I will never turn away from doing good to them, and I will put fear of me in their hearts so that they will never again turn away from me.^{(B) 41} I will take delight in them to do what is good for them, and with all my heart and mind I will faithfully plant them in this land.^(C)

¹¹ I will fill you with people and animals,^(A) and they will increase and be fruitful. I will make you inhabited as you once were and make you better off than you were before. Then you will know that I am the Lord.^(B)
