¹³ So Moses arose with his assistant Joshua and went up the mountain of God.^(A)

¹⁷ When Joshua heard the sound of the people as they shouted, he said to Moses, ‘There is a sound of war in the camp.’

¹¹ The Lord would speak with Moses face to face, just as a man speaks with his friend, then Moses would return to the camp. His assistant, the young man Joshua son of Nun, would not leave the inside of the tent.^(A)

⁴⁵ Our ancestors in turn received it and with Joshua brought it in when they dispossessed the nations that God drove out before them,^(A) until the days of David.
