¹² He answered, ‘I will certainly be with you,^(A) and this will be the sign to you that I am the one who sent you: when you bring the people out of Egypt, you will all worship^[a] God at this mountain.’

⁷ When these signs have happened to you, do whatever your circumstances require^[a](A) because God is with you.

⁹ When Saul turned to leave Samuel, God changed his heart,^[a] and all the signs came about that day.

¹¹ ‘Ask for a sign^(A) from the Lord your God – it can be as deep as Sheol or as high as heaven.’

¹⁴ Therefore, the Lord himself will give you^[a] a sign: See, the virgin will conceive,^[b] have a son, and name him Immanuel.^[c](A)
