⁷ Then the Lord said, ‘I have observed the misery of my people in Egypt, and have heard them crying out^(A) because of their oppressors. I know about their sufferings,

⁹ So because the Israelites’ cry for help has come to me, and I have also seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing^(A) them,

⁷ So we called out to the Lord, the God of our ancestors, and the Lord heard our cry and saw our misery, hardship, and oppression.^(A)

⁴ Look! The pay that you withheld from the workers^(A) who mowed your fields cries out, and the outcry of the harvesters has reached the ears of the Lord of Armies.^(B)
