⁸ and I have come down to rescue them from the power of the Egyptians and to bring them from that land to a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey^(A) – the territory of the Canaanites, Hethites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites.^(B)

⁵ When the Lord brings you into the land of the Canaanites, Hethites, Amorites, Hivites, and Jebusites,^[a] which he swore to your ancestors that he would give you, a land flowing with milk and honey,^(A) you must carry out this ceremony in this month.^(B)

⁸ If the Lord is pleased with us, he will bring us into this land, a land flowing with milk and honey,^(A) and give it to us.

¹³ Is it not enough that you brought us up from a land flowing with milk and honey to kill us in the wilderness?^(A) Do you also have to appoint yourself as ruler over us? ¹⁴ Furthermore, you didn’t bring us to a land flowing with milk and honey or give us an inheritance of fields and vineyards. Will you gouge out the eyes of these men?^(B) We will not come! ’
