¹³ Everyone who is registered must pay half a shekel^[a] according to the sanctuary shekel (twenty gerahs to the shekel). This half shekel is a contribution to the Lord.^(A)

¹⁴ ‘If his offering to the Lord is a burnt offering of birds,^(A) he is to present his offering from the turtledoves^(B) or young pigeons.^[a](C)

⁷ ‘But if he cannot afford an animal from the flock, then he may bring to the Lord two turtledoves or two young pigeons^(A) as penalty for guilt for his sin – one as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering.

⁸ But if she doesn’t have sufficient means^[a](A) for a sheep, she may take two turtledoves or two young pigeons,^(B) one for a burnt offering and the other for a sin offering. Then the priest will make atonement on her behalf, and she will be clean.’

²⁵ then exchange it for silver, take the silver in your hand, and go to the place the Lord your God chooses.
