¹⁷ And take this staff in your hand that you will perform the signs with.’^(A)

⁸ ‘Take the staff^(A) and assemble the community. You and your brother Aaron are to speak to the rock^(B) while they watch, and it will yield its water. You will bring out water for them from the rock and provide drink for the community and their livestock.’

⁹ So Moses took the staff from the Lord’s presence^(C) just as he had commanded him.

²⁶ And the Lord of Armies will brandish a whip against him as he did when he struck Midian at the rock of Oreb;^(A) and he will raise his staff over the sea as he did in Egypt.
