6 But the Lord replied to Moses, ‘Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh: because of a strong hand he will let them go, and because of a strong hand he will drive them from his land.’^(A)

⁸ They are to eat the meat that night; they should eat it, roasted over the fire along with unleavened bread and bitter herbs.^(A)

⁴² It was a night of vigil in honour of the Lord, because he would bring them out of the land of Egypt. This same night is in honour of the Lord, a night vigil for all the Israelites throughout their generations.^(A)

³ Do not eat leavened bread with it.^(A) For seven days you are to eat unleavened bread with it, the bread of hardship – because you left the land of Egypt in a hurry^(B) – so that you may remember for the rest of your life the day you left the land of Egypt.
