²¹ The Israelites who had returned from exile^(A) ate it, together with all who had separated themselves from the uncleanness of the Gentiles of the land^[a](B) in order to worship the Lord, the God of Israel.

¹¹ Therefore, make a confession to the Lord, the God of your ancestors, and do his will. Separate yourselves from the surrounding peoples and your foreign wives.’
