¹⁸ On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying, ‘I give this land to your offspring,^(A) from the Brook of Egypt^(B) to the great river, the River Euphrates:

²⁴ Every place the sole of your foot treads will be yours.^(A) Your territory will extend from the wilderness to Lebanon and from the River Euphrates^[a] to the Mediterranean Sea.^(B)

⁴⁴ The Lord gave them rest on every side according to all he had sworn to their ancestors. None of their enemies were able to stand against them, for the Lord handed over all their enemies to them.

²¹ Solomon ruled all the kingdoms from the River Euphrates to the land of the Philistines and as far as the border of Egypt.^(A) They offered tribute and served Solomon all the days of his life.^(B)
