¹⁶ and said, ‘By myself I have sworn,’^(A) this is the Lord’s declaration: ‘Because you have done this thing and have not withheld your only son, ¹⁷ I will indeed bless you^(B) and make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky^(C) and the sand on the seashore.^(D) Your offspring will possess the city gates of their^[a] enemies.^{(E) 18} And all the nations of the earth will be blessed^[b] by your offspring^(F) because you have obeyed my command.’

³ stay in this land as a foreigner, and I will be with you and bless you.^(A) For I will give all these lands to you and your offspring,^(B) and I will confirm the oath that I swore to your father Abraham.^(C)
