⁶ I will make you extremely fruitful and will make nations and kings come from you.

⁴ I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky, I will give your offspring all these lands, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed^[a] by your offspring,^(A)

¹¹ God also said to him, ‘I am God Almighty.^(A) Be fruitful and multiply.^(B) A nation, indeed an assembly of nations, will come from you,^(C) and kings will descend from you.^[a](D)

⁷ But the Israelites were fruitful, increased rapidly, multiplied, and became extremely numerous^(A) so that the land was filled with them.

⁵ You are to respond by saying in the presence of the Lord your God:

My father was a wandering Aramean.^(A) He went down to Egypt with a few people and resided there as a foreigner.^(B) There he became a great, powerful, and populous nation.
