⁶ Then God said to him in the dream, ‘Yes, I know that you did this with a clear conscience.^[a] I have also kept you from sinning against me. Therefore I have not let you touch her.

¹⁸ On the third day Joseph said to them, ‘I fear God^(A) – do this and you will live.

¹³ David responded to Nathan, ‘I have sinned against the Lord.’^(A)

Then Nathan replied to David, ‘And the Lord has taken away your sin; you will not die.^(B)
