³² Your servant became accountable to my father for the boy, saying, “If I do not return him to you, I will always bear the guilt for sinning against you, my father.”^(A)

⁶ let your eyes be open and your ears be attentive^(A) to hear your servant’s prayer that I now pray to you day and night^(B) for your servants, the Israelites. I confess the sins^[a] we have committed against you. Both I and my father’s family have sinned.^(C)
