³⁰ On that day they will roar over it,
like the roaring of the sea.
When one looks at the land,
there will be darkness and distress;
light will be obscured by clouds.^[a]

⁷ “‘When I snuff you out,
I will cover the heavens
and darken their stars.
I will cover the sun with a cloud,^(A)
and the moon will not give its light.
⁸ I will darken all the shining lights
in the heavens over you,
and will bring darkness on your land.
This is the declaration of the Lord God.
