² to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour,^(A)
and the day of our God’s vengeance;^(B)
to comfort^(C) all who mourn,

⁵ Tell Daughter Zion,
‘See, your King is coming to you,
gentle, and mounted on a donkey,
and on a colt,
the foal of a donkey.’^[a](A)

¹⁷ For the Lamb who is at the centre of the throne
will shepherd them;^(A)
he will guide them to springs of the waters of life,^(B)
and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.^(C)
