Ang Pulong Sa Dios
Anak nga Lalaki ni Isaias
8 Miingon ang Ginoo kanako, “Pagkuhag usa ka lapad nga sulatanan, ug klaroha pagsulat kini nga mga pulonga: ‘Maher Shalal Hash Baz.’ ”[a] 2 Unya mikuha akog duha ka kasaligan nga mga saksi nga motistigo nga gisulat ko kini. Sila mao si Uria nga pari ug si Zacarias nga anak ni Jeberekia.
3 Unya, midulog ako sa akong asawa nga usa ka propeta, ug unya namabdos siya ug nanganak ug lalaki. Miingon ang Ginoo kanako, “Nganli ang bata ug Maher Shalal Hash Baz. 4 Kay sa dili pa makahibalong molitok ang bata ug ‘tatay’ o ‘nanay,’ ang bahandi sa Damascus ug ang mga gipang-ilog sa Samaria sakmiton sa hari sa Asiria.”
5 Miingon pag-usab ang Ginoo kanako, 6 “Tungod kay gisalikway niini nga katawhan ang tubig sa Shiloa nga inanay nga nagdagayday,[b] ug nalipay sila kang Haring Rezin ug kang Haring Peka, 7 ipasulong ko kanila ang hari sa Asiria ug ang mga sundalo niini nga sama sa baha sa Suba sa Eufrates nga miawas sa mga pangpang niini. 8 Maghaguros sila sa Juda ug lukopon nila ang tibuok yuta[c] nga daw sa gilunopan kinig tubig nga taga-liog kalawom.”
Apan sa gihapon, ang Dios kauban namo![d] 9 Kamong mga nasod, bisan pag magkahiusa kamo, magkatibulaag gihapon kamo. Pamati kamo nga anaa sa halayo! Bisan mangandam pa kamo sa pagpakiggira, mapildi gihapon kamo. 10 Bisag unsa pay inyong giplano batok kanamo, dili kini magmalampuson, tungod kay ang Dios kauban namo.
Panawagan sa Pagsalig sa Dios
11 Gipasidan-an gayod ako sa Ginoo nga dili mosunod sa mga binuhatan sa akong katagilungsod. 12 Miingon pa gayod siya, “Ayaw kamo pag-ingon nga makig-abin kita sa ubang mga nasod sama sa gi-ingon sa uban. Ayaw kamog kalisang sa ilang gikahadlokan, ug ayaw kamo kakulba. 13 Ako, ang Ginoo nga Makagagahom, ang inyong angay ilhon nga balaan. Ako ang angay ninyong kahadlokan. 14 Ako ang mahimo ninyong dalangpanan. Apan alang sa Israel ug Juda, sama ako sa usa ka bato nga makapandol ug makapadusmo kanila. Ug alang ngadto sa katawhan sa Jerusalem, sama ako sa lit-ag. 15 Daghan kanila ang mapandol, matumba, ug malaglag. Malit-agan sila ug madakpan.”
16 Kamo nga akong mga sumusunod, tipigi ninyo ang akong katudloanan.
17 Molaom ako sa Ginoo bisan pag gitalikdan niya ang mga kaliwat ni Jacob. Mosalig gayod ako kaniya.
18 Nia ako ug ang mga anak nga gihatag sa Ginoo kanako, mga timailhan alang sa Israel[e] gikan sa Ginoo nga Makagagahom nga nagpuyo sa Bukid sa Zion. 19 Kon may moingon kaninyo nga magpakisayod kamo gikan sa mga patay pinaagi sa mga babaylan ug espiritista, ayaw ninyo kini buhata. Kini sila nagayamyam lang. Pangutana kamo sa inyong Dios. Nganong mangutana man kamo sa mga patay bahin sa mga buhi? 20 Kinahanglan nga ang balaod ug ang katudloan nga gikan sa Ginoo mao ang inyong pamation. Kon may mga tawo nga mosulti ug mga butang nga wala mahisubay sa mga gipanudlo sa Ginoo, wala mahayagi ang hunahuna nianang mga tawhana.
21 Maglakaw sila nga gibug-atan ug gutom. Ug tungod sa ilang kagutom, masuko sila ug panghimaraoton nila ang ilang hari ug ang ilang Dios. Mohangad man sila sa langit 22 o motan-aw sa yuta, wala silay makita kondili kalisod ug kangitngit. Ug itambog sila didto sa makahahadlok nga kangitngit.

Isaiah and His Children as Signs
8 The Lord said to me, “Take a large scroll(A) and write on it with an ordinary pen: Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz.”[a](B) 2 So I called in Uriah(C) the priest and Zechariah son of Jeberekiah as reliable witnesses(D) for me. 3 Then I made love to the prophetess,(E) and she conceived and gave birth to a son.(F) And the Lord said to me, “Name him Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz.(G) 4 For before the boy knows(H) how to say ‘My father’ or ‘My mother,’ the wealth of Damascus(I) and the plunder of Samaria will be carried off by the king of Assyria.(J)”
5 The Lord spoke to me again:
6 “Because this people has rejected(K)
the gently flowing waters of Shiloah(L)
and rejoices over Rezin
and the son of Remaliah,(M)
7 therefore the Lord is about to bring against them
the mighty floodwaters(N) of the Euphrates—
the king of Assyria(O) with all his pomp.(P)
It will overflow all its channels,
run over all its banks(Q)
8 and sweep on into Judah, swirling over it,(R)
passing through it and reaching up to the neck.
Its outspread wings(S) will cover the breadth of your land,
Immanuel[b]!”(T)
9 Raise the war cry,[c](U) you nations, and be shattered!(V)
Listen, all you distant lands.
Prepare(W) for battle, and be shattered!
Prepare for battle, and be shattered!
10 Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted;(X)
propose your plan, but it will not stand,(Y)
for God is with us.[d](Z)
11 This is what the Lord says to me with his strong hand upon me,(AA) warning me not to follow(AB) the way of this people:
12 “Do not call conspiracy(AC)
everything this people calls a conspiracy;
do not fear what they fear,(AD)
and do not dread it.(AE)
13 The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy,(AF)
he is the one you are to fear,(AG)
he is the one you are to dread.(AH)
14 He will be a holy place;(AI)
for both Israel and Judah he will be
a stone(AJ) that causes people to stumble(AK)
and a rock that makes them fall.(AL)
And for the people of Jerusalem he will be
a trap and a snare.(AM)
15 Many of them will stumble;(AN)
they will fall and be broken,
they will be snared and captured.”
16 Bind up this testimony of warning(AO)
and seal(AP) up God’s instruction among my disciples.
17 I will wait(AQ) for the Lord,
who is hiding(AR) his face from the descendants of Jacob.
I will put my trust in him.(AS)
18 Here am I, and the children the Lord has given me.(AT) We are signs(AU) and symbols(AV) in Israel from the Lord Almighty, who dwells on Mount Zion.(AW)
The Darkness Turns to Light
19 When someone tells you to consult(AX) mediums and spiritists,(AY) who whisper and mutter,(AZ) should not a people inquire(BA) of their God? Why consult the dead on behalf of the living? 20 Consult God’s instruction(BB) and the testimony of warning.(BC) If anyone does not speak according to this word, they have no light(BD) of dawn. 21 Distressed and hungry,(BE) they will roam through the land;(BF) when they are famished, they will become enraged and, looking upward, will curse(BG) their king and their God. 22 Then they will look toward the earth and see only distress and darkness and fearful gloom,(BH) and they will be thrust into utter darkness.(BI)

8 Then Yahweh said to me, “Take yourself a large tablet and write on it with a common stylus pen: Maher-Halal-Hash-Baz. 2 And I will require reliable witnesses as a witness for me: Uriah the priest and Zechariah son of Jeberekiah.” 3 And I approached the prophetess, and she conceived, and she gave birth to a son. And Yahweh said to me, “Call his name Maher-Halal-Hash-Baz. 4 For before the boy knows to call ‘my father’ and ‘my mother,’ one will carry away the wealth of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria in the presence of the king of Assyria.”
Shiloah Waters and Euphrates Flood
5 And Yahweh continued to speak to me again, saying,
6 “Because this people has refused the gently flowing waters of Shiloah and rejoices over Rezin and the son of Remaliah, 7 therefore look! The Lord is bringing up the waters of the great and mighty river against them, the king of Assyria and all his glory.
And he will rise above all his channels,
and he will flow over all his banks.
8 And he will sweep into Judah;
he will overflow and he will flood up to the neck.
He will reach, and he will spread his wings out over your entire land,[a] God with us.”
9 Be broken, you peoples, and be dismayed.
And listen, all distant parts of the earth;
gird yourselves and be dismayed;
gird yourselves and be dismayed!
10 Make a plan,[b] but it will be frustrated!
Speak a word, but it will not stand,
for God is with us!
Wait for Yahweh
11 For Yahweh said this to me while his hand weighed heavily on me,[c]
and he warned me not to walk[d] in the way of this people, saying,
12 “You must not call conspiracy everything that this people calls conspiracy,
and you must not share its fear,[e] and you must not be in dread.
13 You shall regard Yahweh of hosts as holy,
and he is your[f] fear, and he is your dread.
14 And he will become like a sanctuary and a stumbling-stone,
and like a stumbling-rock for the two houses of Israel,
like a trap and a snare for the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
15 And many shall stumble among them,
and they shall fall and they shall be broken,
and they shall be ensnared and they shall be caught.”
16 Bind up the testimony;
seal the teaching among my disciples.
17 And I will wait for Yahweh,
who hides his face from the house of Jacob,
and I will await him.
18 Look! I and the children whom Yahweh has given to me are like signs and portents in Israel from Yahweh of hosts, the one who dwells on the mountain of Zion. 19 Now if they tell you, “Consult the ghosts and the spirits, those who chirp and those who mutter. Should not a people consult its gods, the dead on behalf of the living, 20 for teaching and for testimony?” surely they who speak like this have no dawn.[g]
21 And it[h] will pass through it[i] distressed and hungry, and this shall happen: when it is hungry, it will be enraged, and it will curse its king and its gods,[j] and it will face upwar 22 or look to the earth. But look! Distress and darkness, the gloom of affliction! And it will be thrust into darkness!
