⁶ So now I have placed all these lands under the authority of my servant^(A) Nebuchadnezzar,^(B) king of Babylon. I have even given him the wild animals to serve him.

⁶ ‘After this, while I was watching, suddenly another beast appeared. It was like a leopard^(A) with four wings of a bird on its back. It had four heads,^(B) and it was given dominion.

⁶ The devil said to him, ‘I will give you their splendour and all this authority, because it has been given over to me,^(A) and I can give it to anyone I want.

¹¹ ‘You would have no authority over me at all,’ Jesus answered him, ‘if it hadn’t been given to you from above. This is why the one who handed me over to you has the greater sin.’^(A)
