Jeremiah 3:24-25

^24 (A)For shame has devoured
The labor of our fathers from our youth—
Their flocks and their herds,
Their sons and their daughters.
²⁵ We lie down in our shame,
And our ^[a]reproach covers us.
^(B)For we have sinned against the Lord our God,
We and our fathers,
From our youth even to this day,
And ^(C)have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God.”
