⁹ He said to me, ‘Prophesy to the breath,^[a] prophesy, son of man. Say to it: This is what the Lord God says: Breath, come from the four winds and breathe into these slain so that they may live! ’^(A)

² Daniel said, ‘In my vision at night I was watching, and suddenly the four winds of heaven^(A) stirred up the great sea.

⁸ Then the male goat acted even more arrogantly,^(A) but when he became powerful, the large horn was broken.^(B) Four conspicuous horns came up in its place, pointing towards the four winds of heaven.^(C)

⁶ ‘Listen! Listen! Flee from the land of the north’^(A) – this is the Lord’s declaration – ‘for I have scattered you like the four winds of heaven’ – this is the Lord’s declaration.

⁵ The angel told me, ‘These are the four spirits^[a](A) of heaven going out after presenting themselves to the Lord of the whole earth.

7 After this I saw four angels^(A) standing at the four corners of the earth, restraining the four winds of the earth^(B) so that no wind could blow on the earth or on the sea or on any tree.
