⁷ He doesn’t oppress anyone^(A) but returns his collateral to the debtor.^(B) He does not commit robbery, but gives his bread to the hungry^(C) and covers the naked with clothing.

¹⁶ May the Lord grant mercy^(A) to the household of Onesiphorus,^(B) because he often refreshed me^(C) and was not ashamed of my chains.^(D)

² Don’t neglect to show hospitality, for by doing this some have welcomed angels as guests without knowing it.^(A)

²⁷ Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to look after orphans and widows^(A) in their distress and to keep oneself unstained from the world.^(B)

¹⁵ If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily food ¹⁶ and one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace, stay warm, and be well fed,’ but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is it?^(A)
