¹¹ All his brothers, sisters, and former acquaintances^(A) came to him and dined with him in his house. They sympathised with him and comforted him concerning all the adversity the Lord had brought on him. Each one gave him a piece of silver^[a](B) and a gold earring.^(C)

⁵ ‘For this is what the Lord says: Don’t enter a house where a mourning feast is taking place.^[a] Don’t go to lament or sympathise with them, for I have removed my peace from these people as well as my faithful love and compassion.’ This is the Lord’s declaration.^(A)
