⁹ This was to fulfil^(A) the words he had said: ‘I have not lost one of those you have given me.’^(B)

¹⁰ Then Simon^(C) Peter,^(D) who had a sword,^(E) drew it, struck the high priest’s^(F) servant, and cut off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.)

¹¹ At that, Jesus said to Peter, ‘Put your sword away! Am I not to drink the cup^(G) the Father has given me? ’
