³⁵ ‘I am^(A) the bread of life,’ Jesus told them. ‘No one who comes to me^(B) will ever be hungry,^(C) and no one who believes in me^(D) will ever be thirsty^(E) again.

The Promise of the Spirit

³⁷ On the last and most important day of the festival,^(A) Jesus stood up and cried out, ‘If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me^[a](B) and drink.^(C)

¹¹ Up to the present hour we are both hungry and thirsty; we are poorly clothed, roughly treated, homeless;

⁶ Then he said to me, ‘It is done!^(A) I am the Alpha and the Omega,^(B) the beginning and the end.^(C) I will freely give to the thirsty^(D) from the spring of the water of life.^(E)

¹⁷ Both the Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come! ’ Let anyone who hears, say, ‘Come! ’ Let the one who is thirsty come. Let the one who desires take the water of life freely.^(A)
