Jonah 1:3-5

3 But Jonah rose up to flee to (A)Tarshish (B)from the presence of the Lord. So he went down to (C)Joppa, found a ship which was going to Tarshish, paid the fare and went down into it to go with them to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.
4 The (D)Lord hurled a great wind on the sea and there was a great storm on the sea so that the ship was about to [a]break up. 5 Then the sailors became afraid and every man cried to (E)his god, and they (F)threw the [b]cargo which was in the ship into the sea to lighten it [c]for them. But Jonah had gone below into the hold of the ship, lain down and fallen sound asleep.

3 Nguni't si Jonas ay bumangon upang tumakas na patungo sa Tarsis mula sa harapan ng Panginoon; at siya'y lumusong sa Joppe, at nakasumpong ng sasakyan na patungo sa Tarsis: sa gayo'y nagbayad siya ng upa niyaon, at siya'y lumulan, upang yumaong kasama nila sa Tarsis mula sa harapan ng Panginoon.
4 Nguni't ang Panginoon ay nagpasapit ng malakas na hangin sa dagat, at nagkaroon ng malakas na unos sa dagat, na anopa't ang sasakyan ay halos masira.
5 Nang magkagayo'y nangatakot ang mga taong dagat at dumaing ang bawa't tao sa kanikaniyang dios; at kanilang inihagis sa dagat ang mga daladalahang nangasa sasakyan upang makapagpagaan sa kanila. Nguni't si Jonas ay bumaba sa pinakaloob na bahagi ng sasakyan; at siya'y nahiga at nakatulog ng mahimbing.

New International Version
3 But Jonah ran(A) away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish(B). He went down to Joppa,(C) where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord.(D)
4 Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up.(E) 5 All the sailors were afraid and each cried out to his own god. And they threw the cargo into the sea to lighten the ship.(F)
But Jonah had gone below deck, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep.
