¹⁹ So Joshua said to Achan, ‘My son, give glory to the Lord, the God of Israel,^(A) and make a confession to him.^[a] I urge you, tell me what you have done. Don’t hide anything from me.’

⁵ Make images of your tumours and of your mice that are destroying the land. Give glory to Israel’s God,^(A) and perhaps he will stop oppressing you,^[a](B) your gods, and your land.^(C)

¹⁸ Didn’t any return to give glory to God except this foreigner? ’

⁹ Whenever the living creatures give glory, honour, and thanks to the one seated on the throne, the one who lives for ever and ever,^(A)

⁹ and people were scorched by the intense heat. So they blasphemed the name of God,^(A) who has the power^[a] over these plagues, and they did not repent and give him glory.^(B)
