²¹ ‘You are not to sacrifice any of your children in the fire^[a] to Molech.^(A) Do not profane the name^(B) of your God; I am the Lord.

¹⁰ No one among you is to sacrifice his son or daughter in the fire,^[a](A) practise divination, tell fortunes, interpret omens, practise sorcery,

¹⁷ They sacrificed their sons and daughters in the fire^[a](A) and practised divination and interpreted omens.^(B) They devoted themselves to do what was evil in the Lord’s sight and angered him.^(C)

³¹ When you offer your gifts, sacrificing your children in the fire,^[a](A) you still continue to defile yourselves with all your idols today. So should I let you enquire of me, house of Israel? As I live – this is the declaration of the Lord God – I will not let you enquire of me!
