⁴⁵ For their sake I will remember the covenant with their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations to be their God; I am the Lord.’

³ He did not make this covenant with our ancestors,^(A) but with all of us who are alive here today.

¹² ‘If you listen to and are careful to keep these ordinances, the Lord your God will keep his covenant loyalty with you, as he swore to your ancestors.^(A)

¹⁸ but remember that the Lord your God gives you the power to gain wealth, in order to confirm his covenant he swore to your ancestors,^(A) as it is today.

²⁰ When I bring them into the land I swore to give their ancestors, a land flowing with milk and honey,^(A) they will eat their fill^(B) and prosper.^[a] They will turn to other gods and worship them, despising me^(C) and breaking my covenant.^(D)
