⁵ If someone incurs guilt in one of these cases, he is to confess^(A) he has committed that sin.

⁴⁰ ‘But when they confess their iniquity and the iniquity of their ancestors – their unfaithfulness that they practised against me, and how they acted with hostility towards me,

⁶ let your eyes be open and your ears be attentive^(A) to hear your servant’s prayer that I now pray to you day and night^(B) for your servants, the Israelites. I confess the sins^[a] we have committed against you. Both I and my father’s family have sinned.^(C)
