⁴⁸ but Jesus said to him, ‘Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss? ’

²⁰ Remember the word I spoke to you: “A servant is not greater than his master.”^(A) If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word,^(B) they will also keep yours.

³³ I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. You will have suffering in this world. Be courageous! I have conquered the world.’

¹⁶ I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.’^(A)

¹⁷ and if children, also heirs^(A) – heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ – if indeed we suffer with him^(B) so that we may also be glorified with him.

³ so that no one will be shaken by these afflictions. For you yourselves know that we are appointed to this.

¹² In fact, all who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.^(A)
