⁷ He then said to the crowds who came out to be baptised by him, ‘Brood of vipers!^(A) Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?^(B)

⁶ Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for God’s wrath^(A) is coming on the disobedient^[a] because of these things.

⁶ Because of these, God’s wrath^(A) is coming upon the disobedient,^[a]

¹⁰ and to wait^(A) for his Son^(B) from heaven, whom he raised from the dead^(C) – Jesus, who rescues us^(D) from the coming wrath.^(E)

¹⁷ because the great day of their^[a] wrath has come! And who is able to stand? ’^(A)
