¹¹ They, however, were filled with rage and started discussing with one another what they might do to Jesus.

⁵³ When he left there,^[a] the scribes and the Pharisees began to oppose^(A) him fiercely and to cross-examine him about many things; ⁵⁴ they were lying in wait^(B) for him to trap him in something he said.^[b](C)

¹⁹ Then the scribes and the chief priests^(A) looked for a way to get their hands on him^(B) that very hour, because they knew he had told this parable against them, but they feared the people.^(C)
