16 When^(A) the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene,^(B) Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, so that they could go and anoint him. ² Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week,^(C) they went to the tomb^(D) at sunrise. ³ They were saying to one another, “Who will roll away the stone from the entrance to the tomb for us?”
