¹⁵ Truly I tell you, it will be more tolerable on the day of judgement^(A) for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah than for that town.^(B)

²² But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgement^(A) than for you.

²⁴ But I tell you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom on the day of judgement than for you.’

³⁶ I tell you that on the day of judgement^(A) people will have to account^(B) for every careless^[a] word they speak.^[b]

⁹ then the Lord knows how to rescue^(A) the godly from trials and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgement,^(B)

⁷ By the same word,^(A) the present heavens and earth are stored up for fire, being kept for the day of judgement^(B) and destruction of the ungodly.

⁶ and the angels^(A) who did not keep their own position but abandoned their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains in deep darkness for the judgement on the great day.
