²² Just then a Canaanite woman from that region came and kept crying out,^[a] ‘Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely tormented by a demon.’^(A)

¹⁵ ‘Lord,’ he said, ‘have mercy on my son, because he has seizures^[a] and suffers terribly. He often falls into the fire and often into the water.

⁴⁸ Many warned him to keep quiet, but he was crying out all the more, ‘Have mercy on me,^(A) Son of David! ’

²⁴ “Father Abraham! ”^(A) he called out, “Have mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony^(B) in this flame! ”
