²¹ ‘If you want to be perfect,’^[a] Jesus said to him, ‘go, sell your belongings and give to the poor,^(A) and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.’

⁷ But everything that was a gain to me, I have considered to be a loss because of Christ.

²⁶ For he considered reproach for the sake of Christ to be greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, since he was looking ahead to the reward.^(A)
